The Essex Region Conservation Authority passed a budget this week that calls for nearly $7.2 million spending, a modest increase over last year.
Member municipalities will contribute nearly $2.9 million to ERCA in 2014. The split is based on assessment, with Windsor’s share dropping by about $3,000, said Coun. Hilary Payne, one of the city’s representatives on the conservation authority board. Overall, municipalities will contribute about $63,000 more to the authority this year than last.
The budget had already been forwarded to member municipalities and no one balked, said ERCA chairman Joe Bachetti, who represents Tecumseh on the board. “Most of the towns have approved their budgets with that levy included.”
