Wyandotte Street East between St. Rose and Fairview avenues will be down to one lane in each direction beginning Monday for watermain work.
D’Amore Construction will be installing a new 300 mm watermain. The work, weather permitting, will be complete May 30.
Once that phase of the work is done, D’Amore will begin replacing the watermain between Fairview and St. Paul avenues. That work is expected to last until the end of July.
The Windsor Utilities Commission says every effort will be made to minimize traffic delays and afford local access for residents and business owners.
Tempers flared last summer during earlier phases of work on the street.
A cyclist was hit by an opening car door, an angry business owner hurled a cinder block at a construction machine and frustrated motorists shouted obscenities at flagmen.
That earlier phase of work was undertaken by a different local construction company.
