The Leamington District Chamber of Commerce’s general manger has resigned, effective immediately.
Sally McDonald did not give a reason for her abrupt departure in a letter of resignation accepted by the chamber’s board of directors Thursday.
“We don’t know what’s going on,” said David Campbell, acting president. “The letter we got from her just said she wanted to resign from the board.”
Campbell said McDonald was not forced to resign. There are no hard feelings and that board wishes her well.
“She requested this,” Campbell said. “… It was her choice.”
The board Thursday appointed Wendy Parsons as the acting manager. Parsons has been the chamber’s office support co-ordinator for more than a decade.
A new board will be elected at the annual general meeting to be held April 30. A general manager will be appointed by the new leadership, Campbell said.
The Leamington District Chamber of Commerce was founded 77 years ago and boasts a membership of nearly 300 companies.
